Indeed, there are also great Vietnamese artists outside there and I would like to present this very one to you guys. His paintings appear to be amazing by the first glance (which they are still at second!). But if you keep watching them for a while you soon will notice a disturbing atmosphere: Mauled bodies and malformed people are her main subjects.
If you fancy seeing his art just go and visit the art gallery in Berlin – Wedding.

Another stunning painter: Jiang Guo Fang!
It is some kind of insiders’ tip because my friend once told me about his small exhibition in Berlin.

OMFG! Look at this awesome little man – Sungha Jung from South Korea!!!
Honestly I would not call myself a person who regularly keeps watching youtube clips… But if I do, I sometimes stumble over quite interesting videos that really knock me off my little socks!
I cannot even express myself properly… I mean, he is only 13!!! Just to point out: He was 9 when he started playing the guitar:
That’s crazy… You know,c r a z y!!!
But anyway. He really moves me.

I thougt it would be a nice idea posting some interesting stuff from Asian artists, musicians…etc in order to relax the seriousness of my topic. Thereby I want to proof that Asians do have a lot more in stock than just being cats and dogs eating, computer-playing, stiff…camera weirdos lots of people suggest they are.
So take a look at this awesome Chinese photographer, Li Wei:

“Same same but different.”
October 20, 2009
After all it seems like this guessing game was a bit tricky, wasn’t it? However I was very pleased to see some people participating! (You know I felt kind of hyped, glad to see that you busied yourself with my topic!)
All of you did a good job trying to match the right nationalities to the pictures! Still there were some difficult ones who were anything but obvious. Don’t mind! It was hard, this I have to admit! So here is the solution:
1st row: Japanese, Chinese, Chinese, Kazakh
2nd row: Japanese, Vietnamese, Vietnamese, Japanese
3rd row: Vietnamese, Vietnamese, Chinese, Korean
This time I merely wanted to make you think about the “all-look-the-same-thing” using a practical example. I wanted to find out who do you think belongs to which nationality. While studying the different faces what did you focus on? What made you think this guy xyz must be Japanese/Chinese/Korean…whatever?
As ElitedarkLord_3.14159 noticed correctly “it is really difficult to guess where they come from. Even though “they have different characteristic features you can’t be sure by 100% and find their countries.”
But considering your spontaneous choice you must have had at least some kind of “idea” about how e.g. a “typical” Korean looks like, haven’t you?
Of course you can never tell for sure who is of which Asian nationality. In fact I do believe that there delicate differences but maybe this is also in the eye of the beholder…
Since I do not want to disclose my next post I leave you with this point now. I’m gonna go into more detail later on – promised!
By the way for those who are interrested there is a quite cool exhibition in Berlin about the topic I just told you so far:
